Dr Nilesh R Shah BDS M.Med.Sci. (Dental Implantology - Univ. of Sheffield) MFGDP(UK) PG Dip Ed - Principal Dentist
After joining the team in 1992 and then progressing to become a partner in 1994, Nilesh became the Principal Dentist of Gorse Covert Dental Practice in 2009.
With a Masters Degree in Oral Implantology from the University of Sheffield and a special interest in Cosmetic Dentistry, Implantology and Oral Surgery, Nilesh has trained at the internationally renowned 'Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education' in Miami, USA.
As the first dentally qualified ISO 9000 Quality Assurance Manager in the UK, the winner of a Research Prize for Dental Implant related research from the Association of Dental Implantology and the holder of a Certificate in Counselling Skills from the University of Nottingham, Nilesh is a highly respected dental clinican who places great importance on the role of education in his ongoing professional and personal development.
Nilesh also supports the development of other dental professionals through his role as a Clinical Mentor for Astra Tech, 3M ESPE and the Association of Implantology. In addition, he lectures nationally and internationally on Dental Implants and lectures at the University of Salford on their Implantology Masters Programme. He is also an Examiner for the FGDP(UK), a foundation Dentist Trainer and has been an Examiner for membership of joint dental faculties MJDF Royal College of Surgeons since 1998.
Nilesh speaks Gujarati. He is father to Neha and Aaran and is a demon badminton player and deadly golfer.

Dr Amar Lakhani - Associate Dentist
Amar qualified from the University of Leeds in 2014. He then went on to complete his foundation training in Central London. He worked as a hospital dentist in Chesterfield prior to moving back to his hometown of Leicestershire.
Amar has completed several post graduate examinations and qualifications including the Membership of Faculty of Dental Surgeons Edinburgh. He has completed the certificate in Cosmetic and Restorative Dentistry with Chris Orr and is able to provide a full array of cosmetic procedures such as tooth whitening, bonding, porcelain veneers and teeth straightening.
Amar is a full Invisalign provider, which involves straightening teeth by using an advanced aligner system. By using the skills he has gained through continuous professional development and experience he looks forward to helping patients gain the smile they have always wanted.
His calm and reassuring manner will put you at ease if you are nervous about seeing the dentist and will aim to carefully explain everything thoroughly and answer any questions you have.
Outside Dentistry Amar enjoys spending time with family, playing squash and watching cricket.

Dr Kathryn Eastwood-Paramore - Associate Dentist
Kath has been qualified for 33 years and has previously been a GDC associate. Kath also has a clinical teaching certificate and a corrective exercise specialisation qualification & has a role as Educational Associate with the General Dental Council who is our regulator.
Kath enjoys treating all ages and seeing a wide variety of dental issues as & appreciates especially being able to make some aesthetic changes that allow a patient to feel confident to smile & building up trust allowing patients to feel comfortable when visiting the practice.
In her spare time Kath is a mum to 2 teenagers, has a white miniature schnauzer, and is an assistant warden and youth group lead for Holy Trinity Church Barrow-upon-Soar. Kath plays violin with Charnwood Orchestra and likes to run.

Rebecca Commons - Receptionist
Nominated as ‘Best Receptionist of the Year’ at the Dental Awards 2016, Rebecca is our main receptionist at Gorse Covert Dental Practice. Knowledgeable about many aspects of our practice, she is friendly, caring and always happy to help our patients with any questions or queries they may have.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her two beautiful daughters, walking her four legged friend Crumpet and meeting up with friends.
Her dislikes are snakes and liver and onions! -

Melissa Hodgkinson RDN - Practice Manager and Dental Nurse
Mel started at gorse covert dental practice in April 2014 and becme practice manager in May 2022. She is an NEBDN qualified dental nurse, NEBDN qualified Oral Health Educator and also has a qualification in taking dental radiographs. Mel carries out many duties at the practice, you may see her nursing in the surgery, on reception, co-ordination your treatment plans or even doing practice managerial jobs alongside Dina.
Outside of work mel enjoys shopping, socialising and going on holiday.
Her main dislikes are brussell sprouts.

Lauren Crow - Dental Nurse
Lauren started dental nursing in 2012 and joined Gorse Covert as a qualified dental nurse in 2015.
Lauren works alongside all of the clinicians at the practice and enjoys the variety of dental procedures we carry out under one roof.
Outside of work Lauren enjoys spending time with her family and visiting National Trust venues.

Morgan Haddon - Dental Nurse
Morgan joined us in May 2022 and Qualified with Level 3 Extended Diploma in Dental Nursing City and Guilds in August 2024.
You will mostly find Morgan working alongside Dr Nilesh Shah and Dr Kathryn Eastwood-Paramore.
In her spare time Morgan likes spending time with her family and pet dog Luna. She also loves eating cheese.
Morgan dislikes cauliflower and sweetcorn.

Apprentice
Lucy Wilson - Apprentice Dental Nurse
Lucy started at Gorse Covert Dental Practice in August 2023 and was enrolled onto an apprenticeship programme soon after. She is working hard towards her Level 3 in Dental Nursing qualification and is thoroughly enjoying her role as a dental nurse. She works alongside all of the dentists here at the practice which is giving Lucy a huge variety of experience with different treatments.
Lucy enjoys spending time with her family and partner outside of work and enjoys city breaks and holidays.
Lucy dislikes creepy crawlies.

Melanie Schnauder - Apprentice Dental Nurse
Melanie joined the practice in August 2024. She is an apprentice dental nurse at the practice and will be working towards her Level 3 in Dental Nursing Qualification.
